Why train in a small group? Teamwork, within a group sharing specific goals, can promote mutual support as the challenge increases. When the novelty of the goal has worn off, when the progressions of training get physically and psychologically more difficult, or when the motivation to get out the door for your workout is low, group training may be a definitive solution to adhere to your commitment.

Women tend to draw on small groups for support towards goals more readily than men, though men more commonly partner up more spontaneously than women. However, research has shown that group goals alone often are not sufficient by themselves to achieve true health and fitness results such as meaningful weight loss, or improved athletic performance.

The most effective fitness solutions have been shown to be small groups from pairs up to 4 members, guided by a motivational and experienced leader or coach. At the Vail Athletic Club we now offer 10 and 20 session Semi-Private Group Training with our fitness professionals.
